EON Heatwise: Timings for Tarrifs

Can anyone tell me what the timings are for the different tarrifs of EON's Heatwise Energy Plan6?

We have afternoon (8.69p), night/evening (8.69p), day (?) and night (?) rates (as well as boost which we never use).

We believe our bills for electricity are extortionate but we can't find another supplier who will support the meter so are stuck with EON and this is the only plan they offer for this meter. We don't have storage heaters and the house never has had which is what I am lead to believe this particular type of meter was designed for.

Thanks!

So we are limited with trying to use our appliances during the cheaper times in order to try and reduce bills.

    Hi cms-help,

I'm really sorry, I can't give you the times on here, they are specific to the exact metering set up that you have, so need to see your account for the information :o

You're correct in saying that we do only have one tariff for Heatwise, I don't know what other suppliers offer but they won't appear on the comparison sites, you'd need to ring them individually. :(

You would normally have an all electric property with this sort of metering set up, do you have gas as well?

If you do, it may be an idea to think about having the heatwise part of the meter removed, this is something you'd need to speak to an electrician about as well, but just to have a think.

I'll be more than happy to get you the times though, if you'd like to email your account number, full name and address to me at forums@eonenergy.com I'll have a look now :D

    Thanks

    Helena :)

We have telephoned other suppliers but they won't support the meter.

No we have gas central heating and oven hob. House is only 14 years old and has been like this since new. We bought it at 3 years old. The water heating is through this electric system so I don't think it's quite as simple as changing a meter is it?

    Email sent with requested information.

Thank you, got the email won't be long.

No, it won't be as simple as just taking out the heatwise bit, this is why we'd always suggest speaking to an independent electrician. They'd probably need to do some work to change the wiring etc.

A one rate meter would give you choice over tariff's though and suppliers.

I'm a bit surprised the builder requested this sort of set up to be honest.

Let me get on with the email and I'll send a reply :)

    Thanks

Without NSH's it's unlikely that you'll make this metering system pay. So change the meter. Around £60, so you should get that back in no time.Simples!
If you have a gas boiler, you should be able to set this up to heat your hot water-that'll be far cheaper than using an immersion heater on single rate.
I agree with Helena, it's a ludicrous system to use in a property with mains gas CH. Even if additional work and cost is required, it'll be a more than worthwhile investment.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
