Car insurance question

My eldest has been getting car insurance quotes and they were coming up pretty reasonable but when we have gone back through to check everything is correctly stated we got to the bit where it asks for modifications, the car in question is going to have a new cd player put in (from eldest's old car) so I am assuming this is a dashboard modification?
If this is the case the insurance premium jumps by a £100

It is an in car entertainment modification.
Ring the insurer before buying and ask how to disclose this.0 -
Modifications is one of the most variable things in the motor insurance market, some want all optional extras declared from the base model, some only want post manufacture changes, some include audio and some exclude it.
If the website isnt clear enough then contact the broker/insurer directly for clarification.0 -
A couple of quotes i got this year specifically asked if the audio system was standard fitment.
Dont fit the CD player until the insurance drops to make it worthwhile.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thank you all I have spoken to the potential insurers and have been informed that changing to a CD player is fine (but it would be a different story if the speakers were changed)0
