Hahahahaha!!! :rotfl:
My Charlie balances on the edge of the tray, holding on with all four paws, but at least it goes in the tray!0 -
I once read that if a cat doesn't feel threatened, they don't feel that there is any need to cover it (no predators).
Could be nonsense though!0 -
What kind of litter are you using?
Neither of mine ever covered their poops - I'd got used to it over the years and just assumed they didn't do it BUT then I changed to a very fine grain litter (almost like sand) and - hey presto, they've both covered their poops from the day I changed!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Mine does this - or he did, till the time he over-balanced and knocked the whole tray over :rotfl:. I thought cats were supposed to have good balance?!0 -
Aww my old cat used to balance on the edges of the tray too lol. Such a lady!
My cat Morris squats down for a wee, but stands for a poo and used to get it all over the side of the tray. Had to buy a very high sided tray but he still occasionally manages to miss (really, I have no idea why!).
Also, the other day, there was a plastic plate outside where we'd left some food out for them or the birds, and he'd been stuck outside (wouldn't come back in so we had to leave him out for about an hour and a half - btw, why do they do that thing where you call them, they come to the back door, then look at you suspiciously like you're about to take them to the vets then run off lol). Anyway... we came home and he'd pood on the plate! Obviously saw it as plastic and thought we'd put a mini-tray out for him. I really wonder they're incredibly intelligent or rather stoopid at times lol.
Sorry, not being much help, OP! Is it worth trying a bigger tray?

I dont think you need to worry about sight problems, all cats don't behave in exactly the same way. A couple of my cats will scratch at the floor after they have done a poo even if they have covered it up. Some cats might do their business in the tray and just leave it there, you can get scoops that scoop out the poo from the tray.
Its nothing to worry about.0 -
Hey guys
Thanks sooooooo much for advice. We use catsan litter. She does seem to want to cover it as she smells it then starts scraping away at the side of the box -she doesn't just do her poo and walk off....must be rather frustrating for her....
I may look into trying to get a larger box. I hear what you mean about her at least going in the tray. I certainly would not be happy if if were elsewhere...so maybe I should just be thankful!!!
But thanks again everyone....0 -
I've got 2 - the tomcat does not cover - I wonder if it's to spite the female one - as i had him first & once she appeared he stopped covering his solids! A covered litterbox with a flap at the entrance is my solution - otherwise apart from having to see it staring up at me the smell.....0
