Probably a thick question, but Google has singularly failed to help me :-(
I'm a self-confessed Luddite who uses Facebook very rarely, and I'm not all that familiar with its hidden intricacies. Here's hoping the good folk at MSE can help.
How do I find a post / comment I made ? I know if I click on my activity thingy on the top right, it shows my comment. But how do I actually go to that comment ( to see if anyone's replied to it, for instance ) ? As far as I can see, I can click on the picture on which I've commented, this shows up all comments, and mine is hidden somewhere in amongst the thousands of others. Can I just go directly to my comment ? The same as I can on here, via "my profile", I click on my post and it takes me straight to it, even if it's buried deep in the middle of a thread somewhere.

What did you post on, a page? Pages are notoriously bad for displaying comments in order of most popular, rather than in chronological order, so it can be a nightmare to follow the conversation.
But you've gone through the right method, using Activity Log to see all your posts, and click back to your post to see if you have any replies. If you haven't already, you can scroll up to the original post you commented on, and click "Get Notifications", this will then send you a notification each time someone responds to this post (you'll get an indicator in the top-right corner). Click the Globe Icon in the top right corner and you'll get a list of all recent notifications, and can of course click on them individually to see more info.
Hope that helps.0 -
Brilliant, thanks for your help :beer:0

In terms of jumping straight to your comment in the middle of >93000 comments about a 1-legged cat fighting a blind dog, then you have pretty much got no chance. Am I wrong?0

Yes, exactly right - it seems you can't just jump directly to your own post. You can on this site, so MSE is far superior to Facebook. But then we already knew that
The tips that iSaving gave were helpful to me as a novice Facebooker, but why can't FB just implement the kind of direct link that MSE has ? Maybe I should put it forward as a suggestion to them, in exchange for a cut of their meagre profits

Because FB is vastly bigger than MSE and would require an even more gigantic index in order to do what you want - they'd probably have to build a data centre the size of Wales (or maybe Belgium) to keep all the data.0

How does that help, were you suppose to link to a specific section? Just looks like a load of Facebook related news to me :P0
