Sewage problems

Hi

I have 5 sewers in my backyard. It is just a small 3 bed semi, one of them has all the kitchen waste going in it and that seems to have choked up.

I have tried vinegar, soda, one shot but nothing is working. Can anyone suggest anything else please.

Also can I have the sewage for neighbours run into my house?
I can see 5 in my backyard and cant find a reason for so many to be honest.

I've only got one manhole for the drains in my garden but next doors does run in to it.
When drains block up it's only 'cos of what has been thrown down there. What are you calling kitchen waste ? If for example 'fat' gets poured down after you've been cooking it may be a liquid when you throw it away but it soon turns into a solid, if you've thrown anything solid such as pealings or leftovers from a meal, they're all solid and will eventually block the drain.
Almost nothing except water should go down the drain, everything else wrapped and put in the bin.

Update,
I think the first part i'd look at to fix any blockage would be to get an old bucket and take the trap off under the sink.

Basically the kitchen sink waste comes into this sewer.
I have two covered and 3 open and kitchen is one of them
I dont know if i am incorrect to call them sewers but basically all the waste from kitchen sink goes into this one particular sewer and then rest 4 I dont know what they are for.

When you say 'sewers' are you talking about large metal plates (manhole cover) covering a sewer junction or just drains where the water from the house goes? There is a big difference between a drain and a sewer.

It depends on how old your house is and the way the regulations changed, mine is an old house and everything goes into one but more modern houses have the rainwater seperate,
Perhaps if you did things like flush a loo or threw a bucket of water down where the rain goes down and looked to see if anything happens down the manhole.

Thanks so much for the replies. I have two sewers then with manhole airtight covers and 3 drains and I dont know about the sewers as I have not opened them but the 2 drains are blocked, one is almost in the garden and the other one is where all the kitchen sink waist goes into.

May be one of the sewer is for waste and other is for rainwater.

I am amazed to have 5 in all for such a small property, is it usual.

What can I use to clean these drains then just in case the problem is only in the drains and not sewers.

It could just be that your drains are blocked with leaves or other @rap in which case you will need to don rubber gloves and use a stick or your hands to remove whatever is blocking the drain then flush with bleach/disinfectant and hot water. If its not that simple you may have to lift the manhole covers (or get in someone to do it for you) to see if they are blocked, if they are its not so simple they will need drain rods to clear them or a professional drain cleaner..

Its not unusual to have that many drains/sewers you may find your neighbours drains also join into your sewers as you could be at the end of a line of sewers before it runs into the main sewer out on the road . If your property is a council property you could try ringing them if it is a blocked sewer they may charge you but it will be cheaper than getting in commercial firm.

Shared drains are the responsibility of your water authority, so call them.

Thanks for your reply, can I have shared drain in my house, if yes then how do I find it coz I have not been living here since too long.

I will do the drains tomorrow with drain rods and see where I get, hopefully it is not a part of a bigger problem and I find out that the drains are shared.
