OP, why have you ignored all advice suggesting you ask your insurer what is going on?

    Because I haven't.

The underwriter has no record of the 3rd party being involved and are unable to provide answers to further questions.

Funny the 3rd party has accepted liability, so could not have been a ghost.

    Do you have fully comp?
If so why have the repairs not already been done?
Have the third party insurers admitted liability?

You didn't answer the second question

You need to pursue this with your insurer.

Ask them what's going on. You have been too patient!

When applying for new quotes you need to disclose this as an unresolved ongoing claim.

Unresolved - probably. Despite the 3rd party accepting liability.
  • You didn't answer the second question

The earliest opportunity mutually agreed between me, garage and claims handler was over 4 months after the incident.
  • You didn't answer the second question

One specific aspect: the initial claim was cancelled by the handler as the handler's policy states that they cancel claims if they can't get through to the person for 7 days. Make sure your mobile is always on even if you are away.

Took nearly a month to reinstate the claim.

You aren't really helping people to advise you with your incomplete answers.

And you now have 3 threads going on this topic in the same forum!

Have you checked to see if there is any time limit for getting the work carried out??

If I was your insurer, and I'd offered you a courtesy car while your car was repaired, but you hadn't had the car repaired within 4 months, then I think I would get suspicious.

So you were uncontactable for more than 7 days then?
