    Hi all.

I officially hate Monday's!! Always wonder how the weekend passed by so quickly and at how little of what I expected to get done actually got done :(

Feel like I haven't stopped today but doesn't look llike it in my house right now. To be fair I have been playing thngs like hide and seek with DS2 between trying to make progress.

    So far today
    • walked the first school run and got soaked in the process
    • Banks checked
    • Budgets played with a little
    • Butter bean stew in the slow cooker for tea tonight and hopefully a few portions for the freezer
    • Two loads of washing on airers and radiators around the house
    • Last night's leftovers for lunch today
    • Bumped my facebay posts

    Still to do
    • Tidy up
    • Go for a run
    • Tomorrows packed lunches
    • Lidl for ham, milk and mozzarella but avoid buying anything else (only as they were out of stock of ham and mozzarella when I went on Saturday and will need milk in the next couple of days)
    • Read a bit of my free kindle book before bed

Thanks for starting us off today Good Advice.

Bet the extra payment felt good SettingIn - I was hoping to make one this month but not sure if I'll be abe to now due to some unforeseens.

soopa_de_doopa one of the things I have achieved today was finding DS2's goggles which he had managed to loose before even wearing them in the actual pool (he had been wearing them around the house hence loosing them). His old goggles had perished so my dad kindly got him some new ones so was a little cross to say the least when they vanished! Hope your son's come to light soon.

  • Thanks Carrielovesfanta will try that combination tonight, sounds easy enough and good to know nothing has melted with it!!

Isn't it weird ikesmummy why they wear goggles around the house??? I catch our DSs playing nerf war with theirs on which is probably a good idea really so we don't have any missing eyeballs! His goggles haven't turned up yet but we have borrowed some spare ones from the pool so hopefully it'll tide him over until we have time to turn the house upside down!!

  • Hellooo everyone! Welcome to those I haven't met yet :) Soopa - thank you for the chicken info. I've copied it into a word doc so I don't lose it, for thinking about! Foxgloves, thank you for budget day routine, I'll be looking to try that next payday :) Ziggy - hope you are healing well, Bob - congratulations on your 2 year anniversary! A huge achievement for a small business I think  Settling - well done on that payment. I am going to be paying debts first on my payday too.

    • I cycled to work today between the storms - was pleased I did, lovely route by a river, but so nearly didn't - the lure of the car was there. As I got up I kept wiggling my shoulder to decide if it was healed after the tumble last week - sneakily trying to find excuse! Car will need fueling wed pm before a long trip but I hope not to use it until then.
    • Took hm soup but forgot to eat lunch! So its there for 2mrw. ate a very old instant porridge sachet instead!
    • I think DD's lunch cost me 19p today!!! (YS 20p for 5 pitta bread = 4p, YS ham packet 20p = 5p, YS frubes 40p for 8 = 10p, crisps = free packet from work bash, ginger nut biscuits = free from conference last week!). Not the healthiest but she had a big bowl of stewed apples for breakfast so that counteracted the absence of any fruit that she could take for lunch!
    • Just eaten up lots of tiny bits of leftovers for tea - JP cooked last week, left over beans from saturday lunch, left over veggie sausages, scrapings of 2 packs of cheese. Was very glad ex didn't turn up with DD whilst I was eating - would rather he thought my evenings alone were more exotic than that!!
    • Just running bath ahead of early night. Trying to distract myself from absence of milk (and therefore cups of tea). I can manage one night, surely! Don't want to break a NSD for that!!
    • Emailed winner of our furniture on Ebay to arrange collection
    • About to juggle monies around in bank. 10 days to payday for me. A bit obsessed this month about that!!
    • Did washing on timer delay programme middle of last night, another batch ready to do the same tonight. Cant really if we have guests staying but this is a good habit if just myself and DD here (we sleep through anything!)
    • dehumidifyer also set to be on tonight through night. windows were open all day but it was damp not dry outside so don't think that helped much!
  • Hi everyone, had another rollercoaster of a day. It's ended well, so hopefully this will carry forward to tomorrow. My small things list for today:

    All meals from stores
    No spend day
    Checked bank
    Checked free postcode lottery
    Prepared lunches for tomorrow
Shepherd's pie for tea, enough for tomorrow too. Used less mince (400g not 500g) and no noticeable difference in portion size
Heating on for as last little as possible

That's all for today, but it all makes a difference :)
