Old Style Daily Thread Monday 3rd March

Time_to_face_the_music

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Usual early dash and running late again.
Pork and chorizo meat balls for dinner and Thai cold omelette for lunch. Diet has been a failure this week so need to get back on it with a vengeance and be extra good.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well, warm and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning TTFTM, Lonewhitewolf & all that follow
Must stop lurking & start posting again!
Hope everyone is ok.
Today's tasks are fill out forms, clean living room & bathrooms & do washing.
Dinner tonight is bacon pasta for dh, me & the kids will be having bits & pieces to use up from the freezer. I've got lots of bits in the freezer so I've been getting it used up.
I'm just having a coffee before I have to wake the children up for school. They're not morning children, especially on a Monday so that will be fun ;-)
Oh I also need to go to Aldi this morning as well. I have to go early as the car park fills up rather fast, leading to chaos.
Love, hugs & spoons

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them.
Now light, very wet underfoot, as it started raining yesterday afternoon and then was wet windy and wild for quite a while during the evening. I could hear the wind howling round the house as I sat on the pc. Not sure what the forecast is for today, but it’s very cloudy and overcast at the moment, but not raining ….yet!
DH up and gone to work early but not stupid early.
Dinner yesterday was beef stew and dumplings, I prepped it all and put it in the slow cooker yesterday morning, and then prepped all the veg so when we got back yesterday afternoon all I had to do was cook the veg. The beef was some I bought in bulk from the butcher and very nice it was too. I managed to stretch 1 extra meal out of the stew so that’s now safely in the freezer. Dinner tonight is smoked sausage pasta with crème fraiche sauce.
Back to work for me today, don’t know what sort of day we’ll get – hopefully quite busy so day passes quickly. There’s road works supposed to be starting today right near our office and it looks like the roads could be chaos for the next 12 weeks – what joy! In good tradition none of the authorities carrying out the work have thought to communicate with each other so we now have two of the most major routes in and around our town either shut or partially shut due to road works – how on earth they think the traffic is going to move is a mystery to everyone!
Yesterday’s meeting all went ok, and it was good to catch up with friends we haven’t seen for a while, there was also a lot of faces there we didn’t recognise, but always good to see new people.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all,
Raining again heavily this morning and all day yesterday I hope the road to work is not flooded again, its so bad around here we just need a complete break from the rain for a good long while.
Off to work today and I will drop dd and little dog off first, going to put some pork belly strips in the sc before I go which will be served with rice and peas, I must admit the sc is so handy when you are out all day.
Got to have a look at my car insurance tonight which is due for renewal next week, see if I can get it any cheaper, I also have some e-mails to answer.
have good days all xx0 -
Morning All
Quite bright outside, not sure how long it will last. Yesterday's rain was awful again, just when I thought we may have 2 days the same and I stripped DDs bed. Still, it is on the airer along with another load.
Managed to strip all the wallpaper we could reach yesterday, not sure how to go about dealing with the top of the stairs, I can't reach and not too keen on getting a ladder up there. Will ask the builder if he has a labourer who could do it. Hate to give up but it's just too far for me!
Had a roast chicken yesterday in my new halogen oven, it was ok and very quick to cook, will have to practise more and put the veggies in too.
Work today and then picking up a friends children from school to have them for an hour as friend is at a first aid course. Will have to prime the new shelves tonight and then get some proper paint - any ideas?
Hope you all have a good week and Monday is kind to you. Take care. XX0 -
Morning
Had a lovely evening at dB last night , he did a lovely tea all from James Martin recipes , bless him we had gammon jacket potatoes with leeks , bacon and cheese , quiche and salad . It was lovely and New York cheesecake for pud . I think cooking is his new found passion :j
Dd is back at uni , it was the most horrible journey on the M1. The rain and spray and the absolute t*ssers . Can't believe how many people I saw texting too  it's so dangerous
Day off today and the sun is shining , I'm looking forward to a walk in the sunshine :j and maybe nip to a garden centre to see what seeds they have
Greek yoghurt and berries for breakfast I think
Have a good day everyone xx0 -
Hi everyone,
I stepped on the scales and groaned this morning, the last month of chocolate eating and not moving has taken it's toll, so I need to do something about it before I'm a complete blob. Not a lot of enthusiasm at the moment though.
DH and DS finished the fence, which means that it won't be left over till next weekend. It has made a difference to their garden and hopefully they will be able to get into it a bit more now the spring is coming.
I need to bake this morning, I promised DS' girlfriend a cherry cake for her birthday and she also asked if I'd make a carrot cake for her to take into work.

Morning all,
Tis a lovely sunny day here. I was fooled into thinking it was warm until I went out to clean up after the 'Girls'. I went out and ran back in again fingers frozen.
Little got done yesterday, the girls still haven't had a haircut. I really cant leave it much longer. I'd do it myself but it usually takes 2 of us to do them. 1 to do the cutting (and the other to tickle their tummies or they want to walk off).
Jobs for today:
[strike]Vacuum upstairs[/strike]
[strike]Dust upstairs[/strike]
Clean laminate in office
[strike]Stairs[/strike]
[strike]Vacuum downstairs[/strike]
[strike]Dust downstairs[/strike]
[strike] Kitchen floor[/strike]
[strike]Laundry[/strike]
[strike]Bathroom[/strike]
[strike]Post Office[/strike]
Tea. Pork I think

Morning all!
What a great weekend! Saturday was just a glorious day and MrG and I hung out all day - a rarity as I seem to work most Saturdays.
Yesterday I bought a wedding dress! Not as fun as you might think it would be. But it's done.
Took advantage of a groupon offer and signed up to weight watchers yesterday. 1st day today, so far so good (it is only 10!)
Hugs to all who want/need them
