sensors in house???

hi all - we have bought a house that has these sensors (movement) on the ground and first floor and I believe they are wireless - however there is also a cupboard with a box flashing 'disarm'. we had little info from the previous owners about this except that they left us 2 key ring fobs. Basically - how do these sensors work? there is an unconnected phone line by the side of the box. we are afraid to plug the phone line in as we do not have any code number to switch it off especially if one is needed to tap in. sorry - but we are totally confused / nieve !!!

Has the box in the cupboard got any identification marks on it? Manufacturer or model number? . The fobs have they any buttons on them? If not what happens when you swipe the fob across the box? Could you upload some photos of box and fob?

In some situations photos do really work well.

It is possibly an intruder alarm (burglar alarm) but more information needed.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.
