yeah they will re-delivery if you pay again , or at least thats what happened to me so i never used them again , maybe you have be lucky

I had a live web chat with Anna at PPD(30/05/07) and asked her why they put only one collection and one delivery attempt...surely it may affect business.

She replied....they don't charge until the third attempt. Also she said the website will be changing and she thinks this will be changed.

I would contact them about that charge.

I use this company on ebay its £7.99 for 48 hr delivery , the item is collected i have used them hundreds of times and never had one problem it is dhl that comes out.

why pay £7.99 for that when PPD is just 5.99 for a 24 hour service?

I have also seen a 4.99 48 hour servie on PPD listings but they dont seem to have it any more, many of the people who purchased the 4.99 actually had their parcles delivered within 24 hours!

Great thread - I always think that sending is too expensive to be bothered with.

One thing though - what about parcels abroad (specifically Australia! - my wife's from there and we spend a fortune sending stuff)

    Thanks,

    Gus

Love to find out more about both sending and receiving abroad. Family in Eire ( often thought of flying and returning same day being cheaper) and interested also in France, Portugal and Spain

I would advise AGAINST Interparcel, they failed to pick up my parcel TWO days running! I use www.sameday-delivery.co.uk, very reliable and you can speak to them on the phone and they return email queries too! Excellent service.

Does anyone know any man with a van or cheap delivery service who can deliver a stack of 70 plastic chairs and 15 foldup plastic tables from Leeds to Oxted

    Thanks
  • Can anyone tell me the cheapest way to send a parcel to India please? I go to Goa every year and take out clothes/presents/toys for the childrens homes in Goa. In the past I have been allowed an excess luggage allowance from the airlines but they are now refusing this. I can cut down on my own luggage allowance but have far too much to take out to do this. Can anyone recommend a cheap way to get these things out there please? Many thanks.

I would suggest ukbackloads.com for something of that size, depends if you need it collecting / delivering on specific days though, as there is no guarantee of the dates and times they will collect. It is really cheap as long as you can be a little bit flexible.
