Ebay telling me how much the top bid was?

Instead of a "You sold your item..." e-mail. Got a "You won.." with how much the item sold for and how much the max bid the buyer placed was (!!). Even says how much below the max bid they got the item for.

Surely this is an error and was meant for the buyer? Or is Ebay going to tell you how much the willing bidder was willing to pay from now on? As I am sure that will end very badly. Or has this information aways been available?

Some sellers maybe a bit gutted when they sold something for £5 and the buyer put £90.

May encourage a bit more shill bidding if you can see how much a buyer is willing to pay for certain items.
