Is it right that the 'loophole' has been stopped due to the MP's vote? Very quiet if right!

it hasnt been kept quiet!
as soon as the government became aware that this loophole existed, they have said that it would be closed as soon as possible.
i think its this week that people concerned become responsible for paying the difference caused by the reduction in housing benefit0 -
The loophole is closed by regulation 2 of The Housing Benefit (Transitional Provisions) (Amendment) Regulations 2014 (SI 2014/212), which comes into effect on Monday 3 March.
Like most regulations relating to benefits, this is a Statutory Instrument made by a minister under the authority granted by one or more Acts of Parliament. Most Statutory Instruments, including this one, are subject to 'negative resolution' - the Statutory Instrument is laid before Parliament and unless either House of Parliament passes a resolution to present a humble address to the Queen praying the Statutory Instrument is annulled within 40 days, it becomes and remains law. The annulment mechanism is used very rarely. Parliamentary scrutiny of Statutory Instruments subject to negative resolution is often minimal at best.
As the 'bedroom tax' policy has been approved by both Houses of Parliament, a successful challenge to a Statutory Instrument rectifying this defect in its implementation was never likely.0 -
Tomorrow we reinstate the reduction in Housing Benefit for all those who benefited from the loophole. These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0
