Does anyone have this model pc?
I sadly messed up the logic when closing it down, now no matter what F number I use, it never gets past loading the windows files.
Having not made a recovery disc and with HP not supplying them, only special software to clean the HD will resolve the situation unless I find someone else who has one and can make a recovery disc for me which I'm happy to pay for!
I'm not optimistic but it's worth a go prior to a full scrub.

tried all F8 options?

Yes, all of them F8, F9, F10, F11, F12, can't get past the loading windows files bar, then the vista loading bar which flashes across, then the screen stays dark and empty!
Can't rescue anything with that sadly, but don't really need to luckily.0 -
f8 should give a menu!!

Doubt there'll be recovery partition with Vista but there should be a repair option somewhere. ISOs here if you need a vista disk (for repair or reinstall with your vista key WITH DATA LOSS).
