Gas Charge

If someone has gas supplied to their house but they stop using gas completely, can the gas company still charge for the supply of the meter even if no units used?

    They can't charge if you are on a tariff without a daily charge e.g. you pay more for the first units.I know people in flats in London with communal heating. They only had gas for cooking and then decided to use electricity for cooking.

    If the tariff incorporates a standing charge then yes. If not then no.
