My friend boils her mince first and scoops off all the scum, drains it and then pats dry on kitchen towel before she cooks with it. It gets rid of all the fat and nasty scummy stuff. It's a lot of faff but her spaghetti Bol is legendary.
I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:
I will only ever buy British beef mince. I sometimes get mine from Aldi or my local butcher. I bought some this week from my local butcher 2lb lean minced steak (it has some fat it in still) and he bagged it up as 1lb bags. I can get lots of meals out of 1lb of mince.
