Replacing hydrangea
We have 2 large and 1 medium hydrangea at the front of the house, sort of a screen. Front door faces a public footpath so would prefer a TALL flowering bush.
I quite like the look of camellia but wondering if it would grow tall enough? Any other suggestions?
I normally just dot cheap bedding plants around so not much else bed planning required
edit: just seem camellia need ericacious soil. not going to happen, this is heavy clay and absolutely marsh at the moment.

Species roses would do well in clay. They don't need the regular attention that hybrid tea and floribunda roses require.
There are some lovely ones which will hold their hips most of the winter so giving all-year interest.
How tall would you like the plant to grow and what width is available?0 -
The hydrangeas currently go up to 1m so about 1.5m maximum, I want to screen not look unfriendly

width, 1.5m now dug up and ready to rock and roll.
Roses would be great, i shall investigate
edit to add: hebes? do they flower? Wow, I know nothing about decorative plants
