Compensation awards have been increased as you now normally can expect to pay up to 25% of your compensation to your solicitor after a successful claim.
skilful lobbying by the insurers/lawyers, compensation for injuries get increased by 10% but solicitors get to keep 25% of your compensation.
Old system, injury worth £5k you get £5k
New system, same injury is now worth £5.5k but you only get £4100
