Compensation awards have been increased as you now normally can expect to pay up to 25% of your compensation to your solicitor after a successful claim.

skilful lobbying by the insurers/lawyers, compensation for injuries get increased by 10% but solicitors get to keep 25% of your compensation.

Old system, injury worth £5k you get £5k

New system, same injury is now worth £5.5k but you only get £4100

Luckily it's a competitive world out there and there are many firms that will settle for less than the 25% and more than a few that let you keep all *your* compensation https://www.google.co.uk/#cr=countryUK|countryGB&q=personal+injury+lawyer+no+deduction&tbs=ctr:countryUK|countryGB
