Bent Ceanothus!

Been suffering from capsulitis in my shoulder over the past year so gardening up until now has been largely of the non energetic type. :rotfl:

I have a ceanothus (Californian Lilac) in my front garden which uprooted slightly and should have been dug up and replanted last year. However, I didn't get to do it and it is now growing upward - i.e. it has a bend in the "trunk".

Three questions:

Should I dig it up and replant, even although it will be pointing the wrong way?

Should I wait until after it has flowered (usually May)?

Or just do nothing?

I'd be thinking gently heel it in so the roots are not exposed and support by carefully tying to a stake, then give sprinkling of blood fish and bone and water in.

Prune to shape it up after flowering.
