Multiple Occupancy Licence Violation

Hey guys,
I want to get some advice on where I stand in the eyes of the law as a tenant in a house with a mulltiple occupancy licence of 6 people.
From July 13 until jan 14, our letting agency had 7 people living in the house, each with individual contracts. Now one has moved out we have 6. I want to ask about their retrospective culpability with regard to having too many people in the house during these months, and if myself and the rest of the tenants have any standing for recompense due to overcrowding, excessive refuse being created, health and saftey being violated etc etc
Thanks
David

Why didn't you ask at the time?0

As mrginge says the time to have complained was when there were 7 tenants.
Recompense is usually only payable where money has been expended on items or services caused by the actions of a third party. If you're thinking of compensation, you would have to prove a loss or suffering and it may be the landlord who is ultimately responsible, not the letting agent.
Bear in mind any such action on your part may lead to your tenancy not being renewed and you could consider buying a lottery ticket this afternoon as your chances of winning a decent prize will be greater than getting any compensationIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
I suspect what is at issue here is ot a compensation claim by the tenants but the withdrawing of or refusal to renew the licence by the LA.
If the licence is revoked, all tenants would have to be evicted.
However I cannot see the LA revoking or refusing to renew the licence if its terms are now being complied with. At worst they might issue a letter wrning the LL not to repeat the offence.....0
