Bedroom carpet for chair with wheels?

I need a new carpet in the bedroom where I have my computer because the wheels on my office type chair are wearing it away, the underfelt is starting to show through
It used to have laminate flooring but the noise of the chair was annoying to anyone in the lounge below.
The present carpet is a short pile type.
What is a good type of carpet for this situation?

We got an extra piece of the new carpet whipped and use it under the wheelie chair.
We went for a heavier wear carpet than would be normal for a bedroom.0
