Lloyds and Privacyguard refunding

Reading through the CPP information I had wondered if Privacyguard was the same thing. I had money taken from a Lloyds Credit card BEFORE it had even been posted to me. It was sorted out but during one of the calls with the bank I was told about Privacyguard and how frequently identity theft happened. It was sold to me when I was basically scared at how easy it had been to clone my card( and how it could have happened when I hadn't even received the card at that point). So I agreed to take it out. £6.99 a month. This was at the beginning of 2010. It suddenly stopped dring 2012 but I hadn't noticed right away. I did wonder why I hadn't been told about this but decided not to chase it as I had decided I didn't want it anyway.
Doing a google search I found this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2551949/Lloyds-facing-new-mis-selling-scandal-Bill-worthless-card-insurance-millions.html So if does look like many more are about to get their money back. Sorry if this is here already but I did do a search on it before posting.

PrivacyGuard and Sentinel Gold are provided by Affinion and have the misfortune of being similar to IPA and CPI provided by CPP. So even though nothing's been found wrong with Affinion at the moment, everyone is sure they're dodgy anyway just by virtue of ignorance.0

So is PrivacyGuard a Lloyds Bank product or a product of Affinion?
I'm still paying the £6.99 and tried cancelling it but was "strongly advised" not too as it protected my identity from theft. I've just received a letter from PrivacyGuard on 18th February telling me my Credit Report is now available even though I haven't asked for one.Is this still part of LLoyds Bank Credit Card Services?
I want to know whether I can claim back all the money I've been charged for many years for a useless product. Any comments or advice please!

Convince the Bank it was mis-sold (by presenting your evidence) and it will be refunded to you. What evidence do you have that it was/is "useless" ?0
