I'm resurrecting this in the hope of further advice.
I have so little up top I don't normally bother with a bra but am now starting couch to 5K and there is slight wobbleage going on! I'm quite small - 5 foot and 71/2 stone so do they even make them that little?
So I'm looking for a) how do I work out my size as I've never worn a bra in my life and b) is there any where high street wise I can go to try one, as I don't want to be faffing around sending things back when I get the size totally wrong. I had a quick scoot in sports direct but they seemed to start a B cup and I'm certainly less than that. I've also looked in m&s and debenhams but couldn't see anything sports like, although I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for anyway.
Also I don't want to spend lots until I'm sure I'm going to continue - I can spend a bit more when I know it's going to be worthwhile.

I always recommend this calculator for working out your size. The vast majority of calculators on the internet will add inches to your underbust, but that isn't necessary and very rarely gives the best size. The calculator that I linked asks for 3 bust measurements which gives a really good starting point for you to look at. For me, it's the only calculator that has ever actually given me the size that's best for me (I wear a 28G which is exactly what this calculator suggests - most calculators put me somewhere in the 32/34DD range, which fits terribly).

With your height/weight you may end up with a band size below 28, which you won't be able to find (only a handful of companies make 26 bands, and they're usually custom made and as far as I'm aware none do sports bras). However, Shock Absorbers come up quite small and a 28 band in one of those will probably be the best sports bra you'll be able to find. They come up small in band and cup, so if the calculator gives you (for example) a 26D then you'll probably want to look at 28D or 28DD in Shock Absorber. You could also just look at generic sports bras in XS/S which may be good enough if you don't have much breast tissue (they're totally out of the question for me so I have no personal recommendations for small-band options I'm afraid).

Shock Absorbers are pretty cheap on eBay. They sell them in most Debenhams stores so you could try on some sizes there, then grab one for cheap from eBay when you know what size would fit you.

Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions. I'm slightly obsessed with bras/bra fitting, as if you couldn't tell, haha.

Thanks so much for that link! I had a suspicion that I was in the wrong size and needed a smaller band, but the normal calculators with the +4 method said it was right.

Off to try on some 30Es instead of 34Cs asap :)

If you are smaller I'd recommend you go for a crop top style like this:

Good luck! Somebody recommended the vanity size method to Mrs G but, as she discovered, it's no good if a bra manufacturer sizes their bras in the traditional way.
