have i got a firewall ??

just got a new dell laptop with xp...not going to do the sp2 yet.
it came with a trial mcaffee package which i'm not going to use.
i've loaded avg & adaware & spybot .. but what about a firewall. ??
Think i saw on a posting once that xp has one anyway ??.

thyere is a basic firewall on xp it can be turned on by going into network connections->right click then properties on the network device you are connecting with click on the advanced tab and make sure the box is checked.

and choose from there. You could always buy one from Nortons etc. Don't forget to turn off XP firewall if you do use a third party program as the two might conflict and cause problems.

The built in XP one doesn't have too many fans from what i've seen, most people use the free ones available, such as Zonealarm
