Should we share increased insurance costs?

Since your OH has more of a disposable income than you since he earns more and bills are shared 50/50 rather than in proportion to earnings, I think it's reasonable to ask him to foot all of the bill over the 'normal' household insurance. If he won't cough up tell him to sort out his own seperate insurance for it, if he doesn't do it, then it's his risk if anything happens.0

I'd say he should pay it. Can it not be insured on its own? people must do that occasionally?
my OH bought 2 expensive paintings into the house when he moved in, so first time I had to add specific items. But the quotes are still around £50 per year for 40k cover so no bother. If they added £200 I'd ask him to pay that bit as they are his items.
Actually had a look. Its probably cheaper to insure seperately for the sports stuff and then your house stuff seperately (to open up that market).
