I work for B/card PPI complaints team.

B/card will now uphold any PPI complaint for core B/card (i.e. cards starting with 4929 and 5301) PPI policy, which was sold before 1/1/1995. It does not matter whether the PPI was an advised or non-advised sale...all will be upheld.

They have advised us that any cases, which B/card have rejected, will be re-opened and the customers will be sent an uphold letter with the correct redress amount.

I don't know when or whether this will happen. I suggest that anyone effected try to fast-track this process by contacting B/card to raise a new complaint with the words 'I wish to complain that I was mis-sold PPI before 2005 for my core visa/mastercar B/card'. This will be treated as a generic complaint, which will warrant an uphold, and please, if possible, do not involve any CMCs to raise the complaint.

I read your post with interest but noted 2 different dates and wondered if you could clarify? I have a complaint lodged with B/Card for PPI and the card was taken out in roughly 2000-2001. You state that any claims for before 1995 will be upheld automatically, but then go on to say pre-2005 when submitting a further complaint. Would they have information for pre-1995 cases and should it actually be for cases pre-2005, as I hold a card starting 4929 for the complaint I have lodged.
