Nissan Cared for - worth servicing with the dealership?

So it's my first time servicing and MOTing my Nissan Xtrail. The service at Nissan is £289 and my local garage are quoting £250 max. (I'm not sure what the local garage service covers but I guess the general annual service type things). Both offer a half price MOT.
My first thought is to go with the Nissan dealership as its my first service and because it will mean that my car remains 'Nissan cared for' and have the dealer stamps in the log book. I was wondering if this will really have an effect on selling price or if there are any other benefits to using the dealership.
I know both prices are expensive... I had my last car serviced up north for half the price but here I am in London!
Thanks!

If it`s out of warranty go for the cheapest as for getting a better price with stamps in your service log, don`t count on it.
You`ll get as little as someone wants to give when it comes to selling.0 -
The other alternative is to ring around Nissan Dealers and see if you can get the price down. If not, and your car is out of the warranty period, then go with the independant garage

Personally, I wouldn't dream of paying someone else to "service" (little more than count the wheels, and change the oil for that price) my car, but if you must spend the money, a little more with Nissan to get the correct stamps is probably worthwhile.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Not much difference in price, and higher probability of Nissan sharing the cost with you if anything expensive goes bang down the line.
Now, if you can get the service under 200 quid, different story.0 -
Nissan dealers are supposed to price match within a 10 mile radius, but as with all things Nissan, what they say and what they actually do can be wildly different.0

what year is it???
if its out of warranty then get the cheapest deal to save you money.
£250 is way over priced roughly a full service you should be looking at around £200 its what my place charged on on a 09 2.5 x trail about a week ago at a small independent
