JSA Sanction Question

Hi All,

I was dismissed from my job a few weeks ago....I signed on but knew I faced a potential sanction due to my reasons for leaving last job. I've now signed off as I found a couple of weeks temp work.

My question is if I sign back on once the temp role ends could I still face a sanction in relation to my earlier dismissal??

No, you've been in work, end of. How can they sanction someone who's actually been working. I actually walked out of a job to find a better one, I still signed on this basis and it wasn't even mentioned.

More importantly, try your best to find a new job before you finish your temp role, so you can avoid JSA altogether.

You could face the sanction if you sign back on, it depends whether the claim was disallowed on that basis before you signed off. If so it would have been for a period of time up to six months which will continue if and when you sign back on.

No I hadn't been sanctioned before I signed off...I'd actually only had my initial meeting with adviser and hadn't signed on properly at all before I got the temp role.

Yes hoping my agency will come up with another temp job when I finish next Friday.
