So my HR details with work haven't been sorted out as I expected and I won't be paid until this time next month.
As I was expecting to be paid yesterday/today, I'd budgeted differently this month than what I otherwise would have.
I'm applying for support funds from places, but worst case scenario I have £13 to spend on food for the month.
What's the best I can do if I already have some meat in the freezer, porridge, cereal, some pasta and a few tins.. any creative super super cheap ideas, regardless of how bland?

porridge made with water, pasta with HM tomato sauce as tin toms are only 34p plus a bit of garlic onion and tomato puree will make 4 portions
but a bag of potatoes and do wedges, jacket pots, mashed potatoes with beans
I can eat cheap if I had to but don't think I could manage on that amount
I would try and get in touch with a food bank as at least that way you will be given enough food for a few days with each referral and then only need to buy enough for a few days until you can go back0 -

I dont think you can just go to a food bank, you have to be referred, and normally on benefits etc.0 -
What do you already have in cupboard/fridge/freezer? That'll help people make a plan or what you can buy.
I would buy some basics if you don't already have them;
Value spaghetti
Value rice
Value beans
Value chopped toms
Some cheap frozen mixed veg
I would then go To the shop (If you have one local, walking diatance even better!) to look for cheap YS items to freeze like meat/fish or bread etcI'm C, Mummy to DS 29/11/2010 and DD 02/11/2013

When my husband was a broke student he has pasta with ketchup many times!
Suoermarket value rice is normally about 40p for a big bag of rice and with a tin or 2 of chopped toms and a few bits of veg from a value frozen veg bag you can make a filling and reasonably healthy few meals.
Porridge is cheap, as mentioned already. make it with water rather than milk….or a very weak dilution of powdered milk.
And definitely try to get a food bank referral…that will definitely help you out, and as far as I know you don't have to be on benefits to get a referral if you need is there.
Also, go shopping when it is yellow sticker time if you can..especially the later in the day markdowns…you'll be able to pick up some cheap stuff then if you're not too fussy what you get.PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!0 -

I'm also a student, the joys of studying full-time, working part-time, and volunteering as a Scout Leader means I don't have time to do say freelance work to cover this month!
Comprehensive list of things I have in:- 6 eggs
- Pack of cheese triangles
- Wafer thin ham
- 1Kg bag of spuds
- Margerine
- Tomato puree
- Cucumber
- Onions
- Garlic
- Apples
- 2 boil in the bag rice
- ~1Kg pasta
- 500g spaghetti
- 2 tins of chopped tomatoes
- 2 tins of baked beans
- 1 tin of sweetcorn
- 1 tin of peas
- Pack of chicken stock cubes
- Pack of vegetable stock cubes
- 2 packs of beef mince
- 8 pork chops
- Salt/pepper
- Malt loaf
- Some sachets of soup from ration packs

Not too badly-equipped for a student I suppose, and I can be fairly creative with that; it's just what to buy when that runs out.

Breakfasts;
Porridge made with water or cereal. Possible a banana if your budget will allow.
Lunches;
Make a potato soup with stock cubes, potatoes and onions. Ham/cheese slice sandwiches. Possibly leftovers
Dinners;
Pork chops can do you 8 meals easily, you just need to think of different ways to use them so maybe pork chop and mash, cut up in a special fried rice with eggs (do you have soy?)
Mince should also do 4 meals easily, of not 6 or 8! Depending how big a pack. I make a savory mince with onion , stock and buy some gravy powder. A bolognese sauce so you can make other things like spag Bol.
There's lots you can do x
So my list for these wouldonly need;
Bananas
Gravy powder
BreadI'm C, Mummy to DS 29/11/2010 and DD 02/11/2013
