Afternoon tea in London

Using my bus pass, I can get into London easily for free. My OH would have to pay £10 return so not too bad. Anyway, we want to get out a bit more, especially in the summer and thought about a monthly trip for afternoon tea somewhere nice.
I used to get Groupon deals etc. but haven't for a while. Just wondered if anyone has had good/poor experiences with the various Afternoon Teas on offer.
We reckon we could do a bit of sight-seeing (free) and have the tea instead of going out for lunch or dinner whilst there so would be saving a bit that way too.

Go to https://www.afternoontea.co.uk, we have used them when in London, they have 2 for 1 offers etc. at the best hotels.
You've just reminded me, we are having the weekend on London next week and we haven't booked ours yet!.

I forgot to mention that our favourite was the Kensington Hotel, really lovely and comfortable, they have tea for £25 a head and a glass of Moet on the website. Don't forget, there will be a service charge, about 12% or so.Filiss0

We went to the Marriott at County Hall last month for their endless bubbles afternoon tea, the bubbles really were never ending and the service was superb, they were really attentive and friendly and were happy to bring you more of any food you wanted.
If you don't book through bookatable though I think you only get one glass of fizz.
