    The validity will be stated on the ticket - so it can be worked out. It's unlikely you will be caught, but if you are, you could be prosecuted.

    Looking at it the ticket type says TRVLCD-01M00D so I guess this confirms its a one month 0 day travelcard so whilst it doesnt have a start date it can be calculated from the expiry and ticket type.


    I think the chances would be very low. The Mrs accidentally took by ticket/photocard once by mistake rather than her own. The ticket inspector even took it off her to check but didnt say anything despite the photo evidently being a different gender, race, hair colour/length, eye colour, weight, skin colour, nose shape etc.

    That was lucky!

    At least half a dozen people have joined a forum I'm involved with to seek advice, because they've been caught using their spouse's Season ticket (or vice-versa!) and they are worried about being prosecuted for it. I can't provide any links, as to do so would breach MSE's rules, but believe me, it does happen...
