New build purchase- using developer's recommended solicitors?

Hi everyone,
My partner and I have just reserved a new build plot. We have been recommended a local solicitors firm and told that most buyers on the site have used them. The developer uses their own in-house legal team.
The developer's sales consultant told us that they speak with the firm daily and they are familiar with the site so it would likely be quicker and more efficient to use them.
They look to be a fairly large, experienced firm and their costs appear to be in line with other quotes we've had.
My concern is that they may favour the developer's interests rather than ours despite us being a paying client?
But on the flip side, it seems a good idea if things can dealt with quickly due to their experience of the development.
What are people's experiences of using the developer recommended solicitor for purchasing a new build? Is there anything else people would recommend?
Thanks a lot in advance.

Are they offering any kind of incentive for using their panel solicitor?
