I will be having my mum staying with me for a few days. What are the rules for housing benefit, JSA, child tax credits and child benefit in these circumstances? My mum is on JSA and housing benefit. Does she have to cease her claim where she lives, make a claim where I live for a few days, then cease that and reclaim where…

So have you spoken to a Housing Benefit Officer rather than another claimant giving their biased opinion?

We really don't care if your Mother spends a few days at your home visiting. Speak to your Housing Benefit Department.
