    It's pretty clear that Apple have broken these phones by poor coding on certain chips. All these phones are reporting lost signal after the update, this is not a hardware failure but a bad update that has not taken a batch of chips into consideration.

    I work in IT, and the symptoms are the same as if an incorrect driver was loaded on a Windows machine - just no functionality. I doubt if anything is actually broken - just the poorly coded update has a version of the driver that upsets a small amount of 4S models.
