Threatening to cancel Barclaycard

So after reading some threads about Barclaycard reducing interest I thought I'd give it a go.
I currently have the Initial card at 29.9% interest and a £1,750 limit, owe £900 of which £600 is on a 0% BT offer until May
I asked them to reduce the interest but they said there were no offers available so I told them I'd been offered a card from my bank at 19.9% APR and if they could not reduce the APR I would transfer the balance and close the card down.
At that point the Indian call-centre advisor I was speaking to put me on hold then transferred me to a Customer relations manager in the UK and I was offered 0% on purchases for 12 months (:D) and told they can't reduce my interest at the moment but to call up again in a few months time and they'll see what they can do then.
So although I didn't get an interest reduction I got 12 months 0% which I am happy about
, thought I'd share so anyone else in a similar situation might be able to benefit.

So you could pay £300 off your card, then use your card to make new purchases and you're not paying a penny of interest!
Also what's stopping you from getting a better card? Plus I wouldn't charge more than 900 to your card anyways or your utilisation will suffer!
Congrats on your 0% success use it wisely!0 -
Thanks!
As for what's stopping me getting a better card I have a default from Capital One in 2010 and several missed payments from 2008 - 2010, but since 2011 my history is spotless.
Just opened a current account with First Direct and they said they'll be willing to give me a credit card in around 6 months of paying my salary in.
I'm happy I got the 0%, helps me clear my car finance quicker.0
