Are Samsung fridge freezers any good?

Hi.

I'm looking for a new fridge freezer as my 4 year old Prestige is starting to die (will not turn itself off)

I've reduced my search down to two fridge freezers with the budget I've got (£470) one from Samsung, the other from Bosch. Here's both model numbers;

Samsung RB31FERNDSS

Bosch KGN34VL20G

I'm tempted more to the Samsung because it comes with a 5 year guarantee, while the Bosch only has 2 year warranty. But Samsung's kitchen appliances have mixed reviews, from what I've read, and I don't want another awful fridge freezers like the Prestige. I've also heard that Samsung use cheap parts and make their white goods in China, is this true?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    They're great although there are cheaper, just as good alternatives such as BEKO

    Beko is a budget brand, I've had problems with a gas cooker I purchased from Argos about 6 years ago. It broke down 8 times within warranty, and I had to scrap it after just 2 years of ownership. I wouldn't buy from Beko again.

    It's too expensive. My budget is only £470.00 and I can't go over that amount.

    We have the RB29FSRNDSA which is very similar to the one you are after.

    Had it installed about 6 months now since the kitchen was replaced, no fault with it so far and we really like it.

    It makes some rather odd noises though, such as a "bubbling" type noise which is really odd, but saying that, our cheapo "oh no, Ive pierced a hole in the old fridge, I need one quick" from Curries also made some odd noises!

    I've heard the Samsung RB31FERNDSS makes bubbling noises too! How loud are we talking here? Because my current fridge freezer is annoying for bubbling! I almost sent it back to Comet when I first purchased it 4 years ago.

    Anyone know if the Bosch Exxcel KGN34VL20G is any better for noise?

    Not massively to be honest, but if everything else is quiet (such as 3am when you are up to make a bottle for a baby!) its there in the background, but day to day background noise will drown it out.

    I don't think you will get away from it to be honest, I think its partly down to the gas they are using nowadays
  • I have this one and I'm very happy with it. It's very tall and I can't reach the back of the top shelf so loads of space in it!

    We bought a samsung fridge freezer when we moved in to our house in 2001 still going strong. Only occasional bubbling notice nothing annoying. Woundnt hesitate in buying one again.
