why do most of them not stop at zebra crossings, its infuriating.
This morning I decided to let my son who is 11 cross the road at the crossing rather than go with him on our busy local high street, he has aspergers and dyspraxia so i am trying to get him independent, he won't cross till someone stops and people just drove past and totally ignored that he was waiting, seemed to take forever.
when i cross with him it still happens but not as many cars drive past.
This only seems to happen before 8.30 so if you are a rush hour driver please be more considerate at crossings, we all have to be somewhere not just those of you in cars

We stopped at a zebra crossing a few days ago to let a woman cross, not at rush hour, a car came the other way and just kept driving. The road had been clear when she started to cross but he came around a corner at such high speed she had to step back or would've been hit.
The guy was completely oblivious to what he had just done.0 -

"If the traffic does not stop, then you can carefully put one foot on the crossing. This means that the right of way is legally yours, and the traffic must stop so that you can cross."

Just got me thinking but on a slightly different subject, traffic lights. I was driving towards a set of lights it was red, I obviously stopped. 100 meters before I passed a cyclist, I could see him coming. I thought in my head I bet he just goes straight through, yep! I've done the same thing twice since, that's now 3 times in a row I've stopped at red lights and observed a cyclist go straight through them.0

i would put one foot on the crossing but he cant judge speed of traffic due to dysphraxia so will always wait for the traffic to stop as he is nervous0

I still remember the day I was a good couple of steps into the zebra crossing, and an approaching car didn't stop.
Unfortunately I was in a rather bad mood, so the car's door got a size 13 steel capped boot in it's door.
It happens all the time around here.0 -
A few weeks back I was half way across the zebra crossing outside my son's school with both of my boys in tow. The car on the left hand side that we were just about to walk in front of saw that the people crossing from the side I was heading to had passed his car, but didn't bother to look the other way, and so he didn't see us.
His car clipped the wheel of the pram, and he drove off oblivious.
My eldest went into nursery crying about how his brother nearly got killed (I tried explaining that everything was ok, but the reactions of other parents who rushed over frightened him with the drama).
I was somehow together enough to memorise the reg plate. Turns out the plates didn't fit the car. Imagine my glee when I saw the same car several days later in a car park at the local Asda.
I very happily sat on a nearby wall & watched the police tow it away and arrest the irate returning driver when he saw his car being towed and tried to run.
And all because the bumhole wouldn't stop properly at a crossing!
Moral of the story? If you're driving on false plates, don't drive like a !!!!!!...0 -
My pet hate at the moment is people who block right turners on a roundabout. They're not going anywhere, so you're not either. Honestly, this accounts for over 10 minutes a day of my sitting in traffic...just because people can't have a little consideration for others. Sad.0

I just start walking out. Normally scares the driver enough to make them stop! The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.
