    Morning all
Nice to be back in one way, at least I have data on the move. It was raining, misty and grey at Folkestone, but it is now dried up (passing through Sidcup as I type) still grey though. snoozer that was far too polite. LWW I think he would have embarrassed loudly in the pub if it were me. ((Hugs)) to you and DD.
BB there is someone on your local council to ensure you get treatment in good time, I will find our their title once home (Sunday evening) and recommend you involve them. Having a friend who is a local councillor is sometimes very useful!
HH I know what you mean, it used to cripple us when DH was on Afters, I stayed up to see him, and he got up to see me. I did not have to fetch him though.
(((Hugs)))) spoons etc. all round, take care everyone, DG

    Hello x
Sorry not to have posted much but basically I have slept the week away - in-between Molly dog up to her old tricks. Hubby has been very poorly with a chest infection :(

Butterfly - I understand your frustration as I am waiting for a date for my op in London but it is so slow and need to keep hassling x

Donny - nice to see you back on English soil xx

    Hugs x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Hi all

Gosh, I'm late getting online today; been seeing to Jessie's requirements (including very wet walkies):D and doing household spreadsheets. <YAWN>

Lonewhitewolf Words fail me! I think a heads-up would have very definitely been in order! I hope DD can regain her equilibrium.
Professional head on for a moment, LW that is absolutely appalling patient care by whoever was supposedly looking after you

Sulfasalazine requires blood tests every 2 weeks because it can cause haemolytic anaemia, and due to folic acid depletion also, macrocytosis and pancytopenia. You should have also have renal function tests monthly.
Many thanks for this info - it makes a few things make sense to me now. No-one ever bothered telling me why I should have blood tests; I'm seriously needle-phobic, (so much so that I couldn't watch Penny-Dog have her annual boosters) so I figured if they were that important, someone would say. No-one ever did, so I didn't get them done. I was on Sulfasalazine for quite a while; I was dx with RA in 1999, and only changed off it to Hydroxychloroquine in 2003, when I was dx with lupus. I suppose it was not helped by the fact that I saw a different locum every time I visited hospital before I moved to MK. Hey ho.....

Butterfly sweetie, I feel your pain; I truly do.:( It seems to be a major undertaking to get decent treatment these days.

    Rant alert
I've been trying for the last 10 days to get an appointment for my meds review, which is due up on April 6. The new online system is supposed, as of today, to go up to April 10, (it's supposed to advance one day, on a daily basis, if that makes sense) but I just checked again and it still only goes up to March 31. I need to go after the end of March, because Mr LW will have to arrange to work from home (or else have a day's leave) the day I go, to be able to take me, and he's not permitted to do that the last week of March as they simply cannot spare him (end of fiscal year, so very busy).
Anyway, I'm going to get him to drive me up to the surgery tomorrow morning before we go for our F&V shopping, and see if I can book an appointment that way. It's a farce, it really is! Bad enough being unwell, without all this stress and hassle on top!
    Rant over
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Off to a party tonight with live ceilidh music, that should be fun!

All well so far, will be glad for better weather as we live near beach with lots of walks and cycle rides to do.

  • LoneWhiteWolf You are a good Mum and your ex is just unbelievably insensitive to his own daughter's feelings, honestly I cannot fathom how self absorbed can anyone be

LameWolf What has happened to our health service it has been going downhill for years and I think that it is a deliberate ploy by the government to privatise it

donnygal that would be very useful thank you :A

It has been perdiddling down all day :( but at least there is no snow ;)

We went over to Bletchley this morning because we wanted to get DS some new boots and I came away with a few T-shirts and socks from Sports Direct and some big plant pots for the garden from B&M :D

DH has gone back to work for his second shift and DD has gone down to her BF's so I have some peace and quiet until DS gets in from college.:D

    Hi all,

Its a very pleasant evening here, nice & sunny.Just been out with the dog.
I've been out having my hair cut, looks a lot better as I hadnt had it cut since early December. On my way back thru' town there were 2 men having a right old ding dong, shouting at the tops of their voices effing and jeffing-language made my hair curl & lots of people raising eyebrows at each other as they hurried past them :eek:DH finished work early so came and picked me up which was nice.Picked up a few bits from MnS,was hoping it was 2for a tenner but no.They did have a meal deal for 2 which was the same idea (main, side and dessert) but with a blackboard saying free wine.Luckily I realised it wasnt the £10deal but obviously a few people hadnt as there were quite a few items left on the till and a cross lady came to put them back-she was saying it was quite clear it wasnt the £10 deal- but it wasnt,I thought it was very confusing :o

The SW carrot cake went down well with the troops,I thought it was a little 'wet' but definitely ok for a cake craving moment :D Its all gone now anyway.
    Welcome back to England Donny.
Have a good evening folks x

  • Good evening chums, bucketing down at the moment I am hoping it with dry up a bit tomorrow as youngest DD has two armchairs to go to the tip, and as I have a seven seater it converts to a smallish van so I will be doing two 'tip' runs tomorrow. They are well chewed by he dog when it was a pup and the council want £20.00 to take to sofa away and £18.00 each for the two armchairs.Well if we can get the armchairs into the car and up to the tip that will save her £36.00 :).She is having her sister Shelley's two leather three seater sofa's on Sunday morning to replace her well battered three piece.Still, it has had five children and two dogs bashing it about over the past 10 years so it doesn't owe her anything and it was second-hand when she got it first. Her sister 's sofas are lovely and she is so pleased that they are coming to her house. Her sister has looked after them and they are only about 4 years old,but she wants to change her sitting room and being fairly well off said that Tessa can have them for nothing:):)So everyone is happy:)
I'm off to a 21st party tomorrow night, in London so it will be nice to get a night out.Its my eldest Dds sis-in-laws son's do and I usually have a great time when I'm there as I get to see lots of friends and family that I haven't seen for awhile.
Right I'm now off to have some dinner as I can smell a delicious scent of cajun chicken wafting up the stairs :):)
    Have a good evening everyone
