Barclaycard Activation - Is it automated ?

Hi,
Have just opened a Barclaycard account and it says I will receive the card in 5 working days and to call 0800 xxx xxxx to activate it, but is this just a automated call or will I have to speak to someone to get the sales pitch.

Sales pitch for what? They already have your custom. Card activation is automated.

Thanks for that, I remember before you got the Card Protection sales and PPI, and another handful of products to help me.

I know some cards you could activate by phone yourself but I did not know if Barclaycard did.

When I activated my Plat they wanted to confirm a few bits (offshore call centre) but easy enough!

Automated for me two weeks ago.

Well with hi dsigth I'd have signed up for ppi card protection and anything else they'd offered.

Free insurance, money back after a few years with 8% interest added, if only!
