Missing out and miffed!

I'm miffed, I reckon I'm losing out compared to all those folks who were less financially savvy than me... I've never been a victim of mis-selling so I seem to be one of the few people in the country that isn't cleaning up £££s in compensation! ;)
I'm sure I'm not alone here, I've always 'unchecked' boxes for unnecessary insurance, I spotted the flaws in packaged accounts and never bought into anything that seemed too good to be true. So now I'm not eligible for any of the billions the banks have tucked away to compensate those who didn't read the small print or believed money grows on trees! Anyone else feel this way??
(OK, rant over!)

I know a mortgage broker that had a complaint from a police officer that he hadnt been mis-sold and couldnt claim compensation. No thanks for giving him the right advice.
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.
  • Since the people being "compensated" are only receiving back money they paid out in the first place (albeit with interest) how can you say you're "missing out"?
If you were never mis-sold to, you were never financially disadvantaged in the first place.
  • I may not have been 'disadvantaged' but all these folk have effectively now found themselves enroled into very lucrative savings scheme... ;)
All I'm getting for my years of prudence is a derisory sub-inflation rate of interest on my dwindling savings... ;(

I feel a bit like that too - so much for caveat emptor :rotfl:
  • You're not alone MsSupertech

I never paid any ppi either . . so disappointing:rotfl:

(I did have ppi on a cc but if I used the card, I paid the balance every month - I was young and naive . . . )

Hey Ho, I have paid out several thousand pounds on PPI case fees over the last few years yet have never had a single complaint upheld or mis sold ppi - you are the lucky one ;)
