They cancel, who pays admin fee?

Thanks Jackieblack, yes I booked it as an extra when booking the flight, through Monarch. I did realise that Monarch weren't the actual car hire company, but as I booked it through them and they then cancelled the flight, I was sort of thinking they should be liable for the admin fee - but obviously not. You live and learn.

Personally I would not accept this.
You have a legal right to be re-routed, with "comparable" travel conditions. If the alternative flights that they offer are so much longer that you do not feel able to accept them, then the transport conditions are not comparable. They are therefore failing to meet their legal obligations to you, and the cost of their failure to do so includes the car hire admin fee. If that is all they they have to pay they are getting off lightly.0
