Microsoft in general and the Windows group in particular have gone through enormous changes within the past year. All the key Windows 8 players are out.

...and good riddance!
Roll on Windows 9. The Enterprise version may even be a proper OS, not a toy.

No doubt Nadella will make some changes and is the ideal person to do so, but I doubt they will totally U-turn.
Windows 8 works fine on a desktop even more so since 8.1. Not everyone's cup of tea granted, but, I have no problem with it either on tablet or desktop.
Windows 9 will be an evolution rather than a revolution IMO. No doubt there will be enough there to satisfy the legacy users.

People said that about the change from 98/ME/2000 to XP.
Windows almost have a duty to evolve the way Windows works instead of pushing out pretty much the same OS for 10 years.

People don't like it, I agree, but people don't like change. Personally as a touchscreen OS, it's the best yet. As a Desktop, I can't see it being that great but as RumRat says, the next version of Windows willbe an evolution, not a revolution.
