Don't! Go to BT for TV and internet services

Recently, my parents have been having trouble with BT, because of their poor services. I know some experiences can be different or the same, but I have had to talk to the technical department 8 times in order to sort out a small problem, which could of been easily fixed. Both of my parents are not tech savvy and my mum has a brain tumour and is registered disabled, she finds it very difficult to use the controls. When the tech people came round in January to install the internet and tv. Sadly, they had not told them or I that we needed to update the youview box every week. if they had explain this, my parents would have not taken the service, if I am not available to fix a problem they would be in trouble. I know everyone's experiences is different to varying degrees, but if any of you out there are thinking about going to BT please be aware with what could happen. I know every digital TV Service has it's faults, please be careful.

Not sure what you're talking about but you don't need to update the Youview box every week!
And that is probably why they didn't explain it to you.
I've had Youview for ages and never had to update it.One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -

This can't be right, as the box is connected to the internet, so it can update itself!
My non-tech friends are with BT and they don't have to update stuff themselves.
There should be no tech skills involved to be able to watch TV. That's be like saying every car driver has to be a mechanic.
You might have got an ill-informed person on the phone. Talk to them again.Look at it this way... In a hundred years who's gonna care?0
