The other problem is that a lot of tyre places won't even consider repairing a puncture where tyreweld has been used.0

if you look at some of the high street tyre places they say on their website that the solution can be washed out using warm water, but when you pitch up with your tyre covered in gunk then they refuse to repair it saying it cant be done
the other thing that worries me about this stuff is how many temporary get you home repairs become permanent, fill the tyre with gunk tonight and when you get up in the morning the tyre is still up so rather than take it for repair you just run with it, and by doing this you are running with a potentially dangerous tyre on your car0 -
I've not found my 12v compressor to be particularly asthmatic either :P
I bought a portable 12v compressor for when I go touring on my motorcycle and it is powerful enough to inflate a newly fitted tyre and to seal the bead."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

And do any manufacturers offer any roadside assistance in, say, the first year in terms of a blowout? Or are we on our lonesome from day 1 ... ?0

My current car has a full size spare. The ability to at least fit a spare wheel in the boot will be an absolute requirement when buying my next car, preferably a full size spare.0

some manufacturers offer breakdown cover in the first year in addition to your guarantee, so you could use your breakdown cover for assistance in case of a tyre failure0 -
Gullible or what, why would anyone with an ounce of common sense contemplate buying a car without a spare wheel?
Those sharp suited sales bods must struggle to keep a straight face, is that why they're always dashing off to the managers office cos they can't hold the guffaws in any more.0 -

I don't mind the spacesaver idea as a fullsized spare for my car takes up far too much room.
But the situation is getting silly as fewer and fewer cars have even a spacesaver.
This Auto Express article is 15 months old but explains it well.

The numbers will be worse now.0 -

I have always travellled with a full size spare or space saver up to now. On the other hand my last tyre failure was 35 years and 500,000 miles ago, so I am more relaxed about it than some others seem to be.0 -

Can you let us know which one you have? I'd like to carry a compressor on longer trips, but I have had problems finding something small and light enough. The one I carry in my car is good, but way too big and heavy for bike use.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0
