Primus Saver Rate Increase! - Legal?

Strange - because I just called them and they said they would pro-rata refund on prepaid line rental.
I got them to note it on my account and will now be leaving and putting it to the test!0 -
But are there actually cheaper deals around?
The current crop of "Cheapest Bundles" on MSE seems to suggest I'd be paying more, not less, for bundled services. I find this hard to believe after the Primus increases, but it's only worth me kicking up a serious fuss if I can save worthwhile money elsewhere.
Either way, I will likely leave them before the next prepaid rental debit, otherwise this farce may be repeated every year.0 -
OK - very unsatisfactory process, but satisfactory outcome.
At the third time of asking, and threats of taking them to the regulator, Primus has finally confirmed I am on prepaid line rental deal and the price rises will therefore NOT affect me.
As a "goodwill gesture", they've also bumped me from 20GB to 40GB. Result!
I can't find anyone cheaper on a quick search, and my experience of their service has generally been good. That is to say, they haven't dropped out, run slow or gone offline any more often than my previous provider Talk Talk (less, in fact).
The Line Rental Prepaid deal was withdrawn in February. I will therefore make a diary note to review whether I want to stay with them BEFORE any lump sum debit occurs in Dec/Jan.
For the benefit of others, though, at no point was I offered a pro rata refund of the prepayment, and at one point I was explicitly told I wouldn't get one if I asked. Which certainly looks to me like a penalty for early leavers, whatever their website or email are promising.0 -
What is their broadband service like? I'm thinking of switching to them.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
