Ok, I know there are several threads about cat food already but I thought I'd start my won, so as to not hi-jack existing long running threads about the different types etc.
So, over the past 7 months I've had my kittens on felix (when I first got them ), Royal Canin, Pets at Home Purely, Eden dry and for a fair few months now, Natural Instinct raw.
All was going well until last week when they started to turn their noses up at the various NI varieties that they usually wolf down. I thought maybe they were both feeling under the weather so persisted with the NI but now big cat, Ash the Bengal, is looking noticeably thinner. Not worryingly so as he had gained extra but I can see if this continues it won't be good!
I've tried mixing in catnip, which worked once but never again.
I want to feed them a very high quality diet and I thought raw was best but now they're not interested I just don't know what to do?!
Help me please?

Warming food in the microwave can enhance appetitePlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

They might be bored of it, you could try a different brand of raw.
Have you tried sprinkling a crushed thrive treat on top? Or maybe even regular treats. There's also a probiotic called 'fortiflora' that is apparently magical stuff, which you can sprinkle on top.
You can also achieve the 'warm food' smell by adding a little hot/warm water (if it's hot, give it a couple of minutes to cool).0 -
I use 'Nutritional Yeast Flakes' (Marigold makes it, in cardboard tubs) as a sprinkle on pasta, salads, soups etc. I discovered quite by accident that my big tabby adores it;- I left the lid off the tub and he knocked it over and hoovered up a great trail of it. Now, whenever any of my three turn their fussy snouts up at a food they usually love, I sprinkle some 'magic cat condiment' over the top and they gobble it up!0

Thanks for all the advice guys, I tried warming the food up but they still weren't interested so, on my lunch break I popped to the local pet shop and bought a few different varieties of some Applaws wet food for them.
They went mad for it and I've had two days of empty bowls each meal time. But at £29 for about 2 weeks worth of food I'm not sure I can get away with spending c£60 a month on cat food
I'm going to give the yeast flakes a go once I'm happy they've gained back their weight, as crushing up treats isn't working. And for some reason neither of them like Thrive treats.I have a simple philosophy:

How about nutriment? Think it's pretty similar to NI in cost ect, or maybe mixing your own raw. I keep meaning to try this but I have one who won't touch it plus much as Ed loves raw chicken wings, they get dragged around the flat!
They are on good quality wet from zoo plus at the moment with the occasional raw chucked in as a treat
keeps the cost down. I probably spend about £10-12 a week on my 3  :hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly

I have thought about mixing my own raw but I don't think I have the time and I'd be worried I wasn't getting it balanced for them, so much prefer to buy pre-prepared food.
I'm happy with my current budget of c£30 a month on their NI food, so I'm interested in what you're feeding your 3 from zoo plus chocdonuty!
Thought I'd nailed it with the NI food! Didn't expect them to go off it so soon!I have a simple philosophy:

They don't eat a huge deal, probably about a can and a half a day with a sprinkle of dry on top, I give them bozita at the mo in tetra paks, a lot easier than cans tbh but same quantity, it's 90% meat and work out at £1 a pack/can
My lot seem happy with it, eds wind has decreased dramatically , the litter tray is a lot less pongy and Molly doesn't throw it back up again like she did with butchers and high jelly content foods.:hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly

Just remembered, my Mum's cats always used to go nuts for her Brewers yeast vitamin B supplements..Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Mine have also suddenly refused to eat either Nutriment or NI or even Honey's which they like the most.
I have switched to buying raw meat, cutting it in large strips and mixing it with Felini powder. You are supposed to mix the powder with a bit of water, but mine just leave the liquid, so I just sprinkle the powder on directly. I also feed them DOC's and whole bone-in chicken wings and legs. However they are not terribly keen on chicken in any form.
Thank you Mayflower for the tip about the yeast flakes - I didn't even know you could get them in this country! I used up my stash that I bought a couple of years ago in the Middle East - I love them! I see you can get them from Ocado and Amazon! Hmm, shall I share with my cats...!0
