1995 Loans

Hi, Sorry if this appears stupid but my husband had a breakdown in 1995, and what emerged was he had taken out loans we couldn't possibly afford. He was diagnosed with depression and is still receiving treatment to this day. He does not remember agreeing to PPi on the loans, would we eligible to make a claim for repayment and how do we get the original information about our lenders as the debt has passed through several agencies since and we have no original paperwork.
Thanks for any help.

    He's not "eligible" for anything, but if you mean can he make a complaint, then certainly-anyone can make a mis-selling complaint as long as they have valid reasons for doing so.

    However, the chances of there being any information of use to you nineteen years after are remote in the circumstances you describe.

    Even if there was PPI and it was to be deemed mis-sold, any redress would be offset against monies written off as part of debt plans etc.

    He can write SAR letters to his former lenders, but this will cost £10 for each. Template here;

    This could prove expensive and even success might net him nothing at all.
