Hi, how do I find who I had credit with from 1983-2002 as I don't have details but KNOW I paid PPI on some???

The only way is to write SAR letters to the likely financial institutions. Since this costs £10 per lender, it could prove expensive if you have no idea at all.

Do be aware that lenders typically keep records going back six years (but sometimes more), so I doubt you'll get much information anywhere of credit from 31 years ago.
Basically, if you have no information in your own archive then the whole enterprise is going to be an uphill undertaking with no guarantees of success.
