I'm just in the process off taking these knobs to court. They charged me for some unwarranted solicitor's fees, I tried to speak to the guy that wrote me the letter, but was told that he doesn't take calls from customers.

They also ignored my letter before action, I'll be interested to see if they ignore the county court summons.

Things like that really annoy me Road Hog as ultimately the taxpayer foots the bill for their incompetence. I had a similar issue with my local council. They ignored my complaints so I took them to the local govt ombudsman. They then ignored the ombudsman. So the ombudsman doubled the compensation award. Mad.

    Good luck with your case.

It's where the inherent risk lies within NR's lending book. Poor quality lending on the whole.

Not an obsession. It's an issue that has yet to be resolved.

But how do you know that? I'll ask again; what proportion of the remaining NR loan book do you think is interest only?

So making profits now. But merely repaying the sins of the past then. As with RBS yet to return anything to UK taxpayers.

Apart from the regular repayments of HM Treasury loans and corporation tax.

AFAIK NR has been gradually paying off its loan to the UK government....

£2 billion repaid in the 9 months to Sept 2013.

...Pretty sure the 'bad' bank has been profitable whilst the 'good' bank has been loss making. Funny old world.

Yes, the Virgin Money operation made losses in 2012. I believe they were expecting to be profitable 2013, but I don't think their results are out yet, so there is no confirmation.
