Mid-day assistant job, paying tax??

Hi everyone, just joined this site so not sure if I've posted on the correct forum, but basically I've been working in a school as a midday assistant ( 6.25 hrs per week, £7.22 an hour) for the past 2 months. I've noticed that there are some deductions, the government pension plan (which is fine) but also PAYE deductions. Surely this isn't right? I'm not earning earning to be paying tax, but before I say anything I just want to check that I am right about this! Thanks.

I did have another job before this one, and again, it was a part time job where I didn't earn enough to pay tax. On my payslip it just says PAYE and the amount deducted.0

I don't remember signing anything like that, and the code is OT0

Yes it does appear that way. Thanks - I'll get on to them about it.0
