Missing Images

On some web pages I visit not all the images are downloading showing either a box witha cross or a box with a square,circle and triangle. How can I fix this please.
I renember having this trouble some timeago and I believe its a setting in the Internet options advanced tab?

I had this problem too - I downloaded Java desktop software and that seems to have cured it.

Thanks but tried it still no joy
On some pages I get "The page cannot be displayed" error but just in the corner or where an advert or article should be!

have this started since installing a firewall of some kind. perhaps your firewall is blocking these pages. also you talk about adverts being blocked. this is a feature of sp2 of win xp. if you want to see if it is a firewall find a page that is being blocked. reload this with the firewall disabled and see if they appear.

also there is a setting under internet explorer->options->advanced->multimedia ensure that display images is ticked (or someting like that)

Do you have Spyware Blaster, Spyware Guard or similiar? I also get the same messages as you where banner adverts etc. should be and it's because the above software has blocked the web sites. Could this be it?

Also you could have a look at this http://www.java.com/en/download/help/redximage.jsp. It's about Red Xs! :-/
